Facilities Assistant

Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of on-site and/or off-site facilities, including making minor repairs; replacing lights; setting up laboratories, offices, meeting rooms; making deliveries, etc.

Job Description:
Project area housekeeping, site management including mowing and equipment maintenance, light construction and painting, material handling and management, event coordination and set-up, monitoring and maintenance of facility infrastructure, tracking and ordering housekeeping consumables, project support and processing project activity by-products, recycling.

Desired Skills:
Basic computer skills (Windows Office a plus), ability to operate powered site and housekeeping equipment, ability to operate construction hand tools and powered wood shop tools, ability to order materials and services verbally and via computer, fork truck operation, good communication skills.

  • On-going housekeeping in the high-bay and lab spaces
  • Site management including mowing, trash removal
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving (loading/unloading trucks)
  • Processing surplus or obsolete material
  • Managing recycling
  • Monitoring vehicle inspection and scheduled maintenance
  • Assisting Operations management in modifying spaces and satisfying project facilities requirements
  • Learning details of the NREC infrastructure adequately to note problems and report for servicing
  • Project support when required

Applicant must have a valid PA driver’s license. US Citizenship or Permanent US Residency is Required.
