Now, we\u2019re thrilled to announce a major milestone: the creation of the <\/span><b>MRSD Endowed Fellowship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, dedicated specifically to <\/span><b>financial assistance for students<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is a game-changer. Because MRSD is self-funded, talented applicants who lack resources have often faced significant barriers to enrolling. With the endowed fellowship in place, <\/span><b>more aspiring roboticists will be able to apply and attend<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, knowing that financial help may be available.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is a huge step forward for access and opportunity in MRSD. With your support, we can open doors for students who might otherwise have had to say no.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Why it matters<\/b><b>:<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Access &amp; equity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Financial support helps ensure the most qualified students can join MRSD, regardless of their ability to pay.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Enduring impact:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Endowed funds create a lasting source of support that helps students year after year.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Community-driven:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Alumni, industry partners, faculty, and friends have always powered MRSD\u2019s momentum, and this fellowship continues that tradition.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b>Our first milestone<\/b><b>:<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With quiet generosity and a shared belief in expanding access, <\/span><b>MRSD alum Paulo Camasmie (\u201920) and his wife, Rafaela, made the lead gift<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that jump\u2011started the MRSD Endowed Fellowship. Paulo\u2019s journey and ethos &#8211; designing purposeful innovations to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">improve lives<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; have been a hallmark of his CMU story, and this fellowship reflects those same values by providing practical support so that talented students can flourish. We\u2019re deeply grateful to Paulo and Rafaela for setting the pace and inviting our community to join them in widening the path to MRSD.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Between Paulo &amp; Rafaela\u2019s generous gift <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> donations from a small handful of corporate partners over the past five years, <\/span><b>we currently stand at $40K<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u2013 so not too far away from our goal of $50K, which is the magic number that makes the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">endowment<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> piece official.
