What do a robotics software engineer, a solutions architect, and a technical program manager have in common? Besides working at NVIDIA, they\u2019re all proud graduates of the MRSD program! Now they are using what they learned to shape the future of robotics and AI. The capstone project and \u201cPizza Fridays with Hagen\u201d (yes, really). Learned everything from systems engineering to integration.<\/span><\/p>

Transition to work:<\/b>
Challenging at first, but MRSD\u2019s hands-on approach helped ease the shift.<\/span><\/p>

Industry insights:<\/b> Robotics has exploded across industries\u2014from healthcare to agriculture. \u201cI never imagined I\u2019d see Waymos driving so well in multiple cities!\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Career evolution:<\/b>
From software engineering at Apple to program management at NVIDIA\u2014now focused on systems, roadmaps, and enabling others.<\/span><\/p>

Advice to students:<\/b><\/p>

  • Keep learning and don\u2019t give up!<\/span><\/li>
  • Take care of your health.<\/span><\/li>

    The capstone project! Sida credits it with teaching him how to collaborate on large-scale projects and work effectively in teams.<\/span><\/p>

    A bit challenging\u2014especially coming from a non-CS background\u2014but MRSD helped bridge the gap.<\/span><\/p>

    Current focus:<\/b>
    Transitioning from software engineering to deep learning, thanks to NVIDIA\u2019s cutting-edge work in the field.<\/span><\/p>

    Advice to students:<\/b>
    Dive deep into your capstone project and take machine learning courses if you can.<\/span><\/p>

    Fun fact:<\/b> Though he now lives in Pittsburgh, Sida loved California\u2019s nature (but not the housing prices).<\/span><\/p>
